Just like any machine, your Sola-Tecs brush might require service. Whether from a fall or other operational error or from regular use, we can help. Here are some common issues that can occur with the brush.
My brush is spinning slow
First thing to check are your filters. Start with the brush filter in the neck of the brush. You have a tool to remove and check the filter. ALWAYS HOLD THE NECK DOWN while checking this as dirt can fall inside the transmission and clog it even worse if you hold the neck up.
Second, check all your other filters (pressure washer, sand filters, etc…). Dirt in your lines can cause the water pressure to be reduced and slow the brush down.
Next, check your lines that you don’t have a kink or small leak diminishing the water flow.
Another check is to make sure nothing is blocking the opening of the tiny jet the water flows through in the “jet pin” of the brush neck.
Only one side spins
The main cause of brush failure is dropping it. The inner transmission is susceptible to damage when the brush is dropped or thrown over the edge of the panels. You can try to replace the damaged parts yourself with the help of our YouTube video series “Fixing the transmission” Or you can send the damaged T-Head to us for repair. To save on shipping costs, you only need to return the T-Head and not the bristles.
A damaged transmission is the main system that fails on the brush. Other causes for a damaged transmission can be dirt getting stuck in the gears, cleaning too quickly over panel obstacles like standing bolts and not using filtered water which causes mineral build up.
